On October 31, Lanjing Group organized a themed study tour for its Qingdao and Weifang teams, visiting the Group’s key project—the Jiaozhou Bay Second Undersea Tunnel. The event included on-site observation of construction progress, visits to product processing facilities, and team-building exchanges to strengthen collaboration and team cohesion.
The Jiaozhou Bay Second Undersea Tunnel is a major cross-sea passage connecting the eastern and western shores of Qingdao. It is currently the world’s largest and longest undersea road tunnel under construction, and has been recognized as one of the “Top 50 Iconic Projects in Global Tunnel and Underground Engineering” by the World Tunnel Congress. The project spans 17.48 kilometers in total, with a main tunnel length of 14.37 kilometers. It adopts a combined construction method of drilling and blasting together with shield tunneling, is designed for a speed of 80 km/h, and supports both passenger traffic and small- to medium-sized freight transport. To date, shield tunneling has been fully completed, with overall progress exceeding 70 percent. The project is expected to be completed in 2028.
During the visit, Mr. Zhu, the on-site construction manager, led the team along the construction frontline and provided detailed explanations on project progress, construction techniques, safety management, and the application of steel structural installations. Participants gained a closer look at the construction of a mega-project and developed a clearer understanding of the technical complexity, quality standards, and on-site management involved in undersea tunnel construction.
The teams then visited the processing factory for tunnel-related products, where they learned more about production processes, quality control procedures, and practical applications. Through on-site observation and exchanges, participants gained a more comprehensive understanding of the project’s engineering value and the Group’s product supply system.
Following the study tour, the Qingdao and Weifang teams held a team-building session. Colleagues gathered together to share their reflections and work-related insights based on what they had seen and learned. Many expressed that the visit to the Jiaozhou Bay Second Undersea Tunnel had broadened their horizons and strengthened their sense of responsibility, collaboration, and belonging.
The study tour and team-building activity further deepened the understanding of the Group’s key projects among employees in Qingdao and Weifang, and provided new momentum for future cross-team collaboration and team development.
